EXPLORING THE NOTION OF QUALITY IN VIRTUAL EXCHANGE: AN EXPERIENCE REPORT

Abstract

This paper highlights the importance of International Collaborative Projects (Virtual Exchanges/COIL) as they integrate linguistic, intercultural, digital and teamwork skills. This is an experience report on a Virtual Exchange carried out in the first semester of 2022 among Fatecs Ipiranga, Praia Grande, Pindamonhangaba and Ribeirão Preto and a Latin American institution. The project addressed tourism and innovation, and it was up to Brazilian students to carry out secondary research to offer solutions to the problems raised by the partners. To evaluate the results, the authors used the project management tool GDD (good, difficult, different) in focus groups among professors-authors and with their students. The results point to a need for a clear definition of the learning objectives associated with the Virtual Exchange, as well as the engagement of all those involved in this process. The students' perception is positive, as they declare their intention to participate in new projects.
