This survey is part of a research line called "lexicon and terminologies". The study is in the project "application of the methodological pathways of Lexicology, Lexicography, Terminology and Terminography for lexemes and terms. The object of this study is the analysis of the book "Pode Entrar" by Oliveira (2015), a material aimed at teaching Portuguese as a second language to immigrants. In order to make the material more suitable for the target audience, it seeks to correct the inadequacies in the categorization of a vocabulary activity, and to introduce linguistic variation in Brazil. The method used was the descriptive and analytical, consequently, we have created a new activity model material consisting of authentic texts, real vocabulary images and correspondence exercises so that concepts as well as variants are presented.
