ELABORAÇÃO DE UM GLOSSÁRIO BILÍNGUE PARA A ÁREA DE ELETRÔNICA DE POTÊNCIA

This paper aims at presenting the objectives, the development and the conclusions of a Scientific Initiation Program research from the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP). This research consists of a project that aims to provide subsidies for the elaboration of a didactic material for teaching and learning English in the Power Electronics area. On the first phase of the research, a strict selection and compilation of representative texts written in English in the Power Electronics area was done, from which a corpus was created, consisting of texts about principles of this technical area and about its most used semiconductor devices (Diode, Transistor, MOSFET, IGBT, SCR, among others). From the created corpus, with the assistance of AntConc and Smart OCE Pro softwares, an EnglishPortuguese bilingual glossary of Power Electronics was elaborated, which will be part of the didactic material of English for specific purposes for the mentioned area.
