This article aims to present the results of a study carried out at Centro Paula Souza to evaluate how an exchange program supported by São Paulo State Government in an English speaking country in 2015 could contribute to improve the linguistic performance of students of Technical and Technological courses fom this institution. The data about the linguistic performance of the students involved in this study were collected through the results of two placement tests adopted by the language schools to compare the students’ level of proficiency in English at the beginnig of the course and after the one-month exchange program. The results show that this program is effective to encourage students to use English not only as an important tool to access information and to interact with people of diferent cultures. Moreover, it was possible to confirm the efficiency of the program for the performance and development of linguistic issues.
