ACADEMIC MOBILITY OF BRAZILIANS TO SPAIN: CURRENT SCENARIOS AND FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES

Abstract

The internationalization of educational institutions and Brazilian students benefits from agreements and financial support that foreign institutions and governments can offer. In the case of academic mobility between Brazil and Spain, this relationship becomes an additional factor of importance for teaching and learning the Spanish language among Brazilian students. This article aims to analyze the performance of Spanish academic and international mobility agencies and institutions, and their results and opportunities represented to Brazilian students. As a methodology, reports and official documents of the research objects were used as sources (Fundação Carolina, Associação Universitário Ibero-Americana de Pós-Graduação (AUIP), the Tordesilhas Group of universities and SEPIE), as well as, in some cases, data were obtained directly from these institutions through contact with the researcher. The results show that the academic mobility relationship between Brazil and Spain has been intense for two decades, and makes it possible for thousands of Brazilians to carry out studies, research and academic experiences in Spain.
