Abstract

This article investigates, through questionnaires, the difficulties and needs of English language learning of students of Youth and Adults Education (EJA) from a municipal school in the west zone of São Paulo, in order that teachers can rethink their teaching practice looking for new proposals and work alternatives to be developed with students in this context. The research is based on the seven knowledge necessary for the education of the future of Morin (2001), in the perspective of Freire (1996) on the pedagogy of autonomy and on the teacher as a transformative intellectual of Giroux (1997).
