Abstract

The interdisciplinary practice allows College Professors to mediate knowledge and this action permits the global development of students. This work has the objective to observe interdisciplinary actions as an educational possibility based on two experiences of English Language Teaching for Specific Purposes in the Analysis Development Technology course at Fatec Zona Leste. This study is justified not only by the importance of this educational action, but also as an observation of the technological studies and their specific social practices. The disciplines act dialogically and interact, making the student think and associate the disciplines. Based on the discussion of Severino (2008, p. 39) about the interdisciplinary practice, intentionality and social actions, this report shows an experience with two groups. The disciplines were English III and VI, Operational Systems I and II and Software Engineering  I and II, involving Professors from the technical  and English areas. It was possible to observe that they were able to mediate their students´ learning so that they could build their background knowledge, which aims to an intention. The results can be observed in the emotional area, promoting a more confident future candidate for a job vacant position, as well as the comprehension of tests promoted by companies
