EXAMES DE PROFICIÊNCIA NO ENSINO SUPERIOR TECNOLÓGICO: RESULTADOS COMPARATIVOS EM DOIS MOMENTOS

This paper presents the results of the English placement test, given to students entering the College of Technology of the State Center of Technological Education Paula Souza (CEETEPS), compared with the results obtained in an international examination of English that evaluates communication in situations geared to the labor market. The English placement test is developed and maintained by the Commission of Leveling Test Preparation (CETEN) of CEETEPS. Through comparative analysis it was possible to evaluate students achievement over five (5) semesters of the English Language discipline in the technological higher education courses of the Faculty of Indaiatuba. There was a significant increase of knowledge in English, which can be attributed to the application of the examination leveling and the involvement of the entire team of English teachers.
