The use of reference materials and automatic translators by aircraft maintenance students to understand technical English

This text is focused on the translating process of aviation English technical texts performed by students of aircraft maintenance and also on the translating tools used by them. It also describes the profile of the students from a public institution after they have taken part of a test about technical English in which they were able to use reference materials and translating tools. Based on the data from the test, it was possible to make an evaluation considering the influence of these tools on their performance during the translation process. This article’s results were obtained through an under graduation research project.
