The development of soft skills in the English language classes in technical and high school

Abstract

This paper aims to present how the development of soft skills was promoted through an activity in English language subject with High School and Technical 2nd year students. The data were obtained from a case study led in the technical state school from Mairinque, SP (ETEC de Mairinque). In line with the new guidelines of Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) and educational groups such as CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning), which are focused on human development through an Integral Education that contemplates, in addition to cognitive skills, the development of soft skills, an activity in question calls attention to the relevance of these skills in order to the reflection of the  students about  the challenges of the contemporary world and how they could overcome them.
